About the Physician
Dr. John H. Seok is a board-certified neurologist with over two decades of clinical experience spanning private practice, academic medicine, and distinguished military service. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from Colgate University Summa Cum Laude and his Doctor of Medicine from Upstate Medical University at Syracuse in 2001.
Dr. Seok completed his neurology residency through the National Capital Consortium at National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He has served as a neurologist at institutions including Penn State College of Medicine, Mount Nittany Medical Center, Mary Washington Hospital, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
As a Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) in the U.S. Army, Dr. Seok served with distinction — including a deployment to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a certified acupuncturist, a Battlefield Acupuncture Instructor, and led the TBI Program in South Korea for U.S. Forces Korea.
Beyond clinical care, Dr. Seok is dedicated to education and mentorship. He has held faculty appointments at Penn State College of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and has mentored medical students throughout his career. He now opens his practice to aspiring physicians — offering clinical shadowing, pre-med advising, and one-on-one mentorship.
